I'm referring to the CUPS driver that comes standard with OS X "Lion". Printer language was ZPL. Changing label sizes is something my labeling software does for me (Belight Software's Labels & Envelopes). My test unit is a GX430t, and I've yet to run into problems like the ones you're referring to..

What version of the CUPS driver and which printer language are you using?

While the CUPS drivers have come a long way I still run into issues such as the 430t frequently skipping labels for each print job, it is very hard to change label sizes (our 3″x5″ require the ZPL CUPS driver whereas our 2″x4″ labels can use the EPL2 CUPS driver).

I’d say it’s unique because it’s truly portable, not luggable. Also, if I remember correctly, it doesn’t require a PC or Mac to be hooked up.

But if you are interested in buying that thing and really want to know what’s so special about it, you’re best to ask the vendor.
