The new Xerox EX Print Server, which is powered by Fiery, for the new Xerox iGen 150 Press, is said to be a break-through combination in commercial print. Using Fiery System 10, the Fiery Driven Xerox iGen 150 provides users with advanced capabilities to produce high-margin print jobs including personalized communications and packaging.
The Fiery EX Print Server adds new levels of image quality with the introduction of Dynamic High Definition Text and Graphics. The EX Print Server has fast RIP speeds, which EFI believes is critical in a time when most shops are facing the challenge of managing a growing number of smaller jobs with faster turnarounds.
In addition, the EX Print Server’s variable data printing (VDP) capabilities offer open, scalable workflow tools from entry level to advanced. The EX Print Server supports common VDP protocols, including PPML PDF/VT, VPS and VIPP, enabling a single, streamlined print production workflow for all job types.
But the most innovative new features are the image and text quality capabilities.
Dynamic HD Text and Graphics is a new capability that is available only in the EX Print Server. It gives operators the ability to print with superior edge and text quality for all colour and saturation levels. The ability to produce text and graphics in high definition helps differentiate printing operations in a highly competitive marketplace.
The Image Enhance Visual Editor (IEVE) is a new version of a fully integrated plug-in application, which offers quick, on-the-fly correction for individual images including the ability to enhance the tone, colour and sharpness of any photo in a document.
Not only does this allow exceptional image adjustment capability at the point of print, but it also saves significant time and eliminates production delays as operators do not need access to the original design files.
Of course, the EX Print Server conforms to industry standards and serves as a gateway to third-party technologies such as Xerox FreeFlow Workflow, Agfa Apogee and Kodak Prinergy.
